The final product is created with an American Apparel 5454W, ultra soft sweatshirt made with 100% ring-spun cotton creating long and durable cotton fibers, but you don't get California Fleece simply from ring-spun cotton.  American Apparel first combs their carefully selected cotton to remove additional impurities leaving an end product that has a tighter, more durable build.
